Anders Olsson was the first professional photographer to settle in Östersund. He was born in Arbrå, the Health Country 1840-06-23, died 1898-03-01 in Östersund. He opened his photo studio at Storgatan 15, in 1868 in Otto Pettersson’s estate. While sewing with portrait photography, he also took pictures of Östersund, also for stereoscopes. In 1886 he handed his studio to Oscar Olsson and devoted himself exclusively to nature photography, the copies he sold mounted on thick cardboard. The Quarter Red Happiness was named after his red laboratory lamp.
