Paul Moreelse

In the past, the woman on the portrait has been identified as Amalia van Solms, Prince Frederik Hendriks of the Orania spouse. However, it is not Amalia and no alternative identification has been proposed. * The painting was first awarded to Paulus Moreelse in 1925 by F. Schmidt Degener when visiting the Hallwylska Museum. Moreelse mainly painted portraits but was also successful as an architect.
