Painting in glass and frame by Hans August Lassen (1857-1938). 30 x 39.5 cm incl. 4 cm wide, profiled, gold-bronzed/and brown frame. The painting depicts 3 chess playing gentlemen at a table with a reddish-brown tablecloth on which the chess game with red, white and gray pieces stands, in the background a stueur. A chess player sits and smokes on a half-length pipe, one sits with glass of wine and the third is moving a chess piece. Iflg. A label on the back testifies to the son, Hans Lassen Jun. d. 15.1.1945 that the painting is done by Hans August Lassen.
