Round button, No 4. One part is wooden with a hole (about 4 mm diameter) straight through. The second part is of braided loaf. It is slightly larger than the wooden part, but has an equal hole. Along with the button sits a label fr. Aug. Holts Gulddragerifabriks AB, on which it is written, handwritten: Buttons, round. No. 4 (and obscure with pencil in the lower left corner: arb should IV ae?). August Holts Gulddragerifabriks Aktiebolag was founded in 1885. In 1906 the company was put into liquidation. It was newly registered in 1909. In 1983, the company mainly supplied the military with tassels and ribbons woven from gold wire in some form. However, an increasing number of military orders were laid abroad, in Asia, where production was cheaper. Aug. Holts Gulddragerifabriks AB was difficult to cope with the competition, even though their goods were of higher quality than the imported ones. When the company ceased in 1983, the Nordic Museum received a large part of the warehouse. They contacted the Army Museum. Irma Wallenborg and Gunvor Klingberg were allowed to select materials with military affiliation. However, the bulk of the collection is still in the Nordic Museum.
