Fallenleaves from authentic H.G., seedlings given Ds by geologist Howard Powers 16 years ago. Extinct in wild state. Last two in Kipuka Ki chopped, sawed and poisend to death June 1980 by official thinking them pernicious hybrids. Some Baker versus Degener letters and labels perhaps confusing beause they unknowingly dealt with different trees. see drawing of type in "Plants Haw. Nat. Park".
