Drawing by V. Kavaliauskas, a student of the Pupasodis Nine-Year School in Alytus district. The drawing depicts the historic night of 13 January 1991, when the peaceful defenders of Lithuania gathered and the Soviet Union soldiers approached them. The drawing was created during competitions and educational activities in 1991. Children from all over the country responded to the call to depict peace and Lithuania's quest for freedom in drawings dedicated to January 13. The authors of the drawings were kindergarten and nursery school children, primary school children and graduates.
