Post-Medieval coin; silver halfgroat of Charles I, initial mark crown, 1635-6. The coin is in extremely fine condition (except for part of the shield, including the Irish harp, although this may be due to a slight bend in the coin) except for the portrait which is totally worn away –possibly deliberately defaced. Diameter 15.9mm, weight 1.00g.
