POST MEDIEVAL MOUNT

Undated copper alloy and silver horse head mount. This object was found in two pieces on two occasions in two seperate fields.The first fragment measured 18mm long, 12mm wide and 2mm thick and weighed 2.71grams. The whole object now measures 39mm long, 26mm wide and 21mm in depth and weighs 16.53grams. The object is in fair condition with a green patina. It consists of a realistic portrait of a horses head in 3-D, which has a flat base/reverse set at a 45 degree angle from the ehads alignment. This has a circular section protrusion emerging from one edge. It is possibly the tip of a walking stick handle or perhaps a riding crop?
