The portrait resembles some coins of Series R7-R9, but no other coin with this inscription (APA) or this particular form of 'Standard' reverse with a cross forming one side of the standard has yet been found. This coin may be derived from Series C, which was the Kentish predecessor of the East Anglian Series R. The dividing line between Series C and R is still a matter of debate.
