A complete copper alloy jetton of post-medieval date. The jetton was struck in Nuremburg by Hans Krauwinckel II, master between 1586 and 1635 and is of the royal portrait style depicting Henry IV and Maria de Medici.Obverse: HENR IIII R CHRI MARIA AVGVSTA around double busts right.Reverse: REGIS SACRA FOEDERA MAGNI around two pillars bound together by knotted sash and surmounted by crown. Label beneath reads H. KRAWI.A similar example is illustrated in Mitchiner, p.465, no.1648.The jetton has been pierced at 9 o'clock.
