A radiate of the Roman Empire. The obverse side shows a curiassed bust with radiate crown, facing right. No legend characters are visible. Therefore the emperor portrayed and the exact date of the coin is uncertain. In general, copper alloy radiates date from 260AD to 296AD (Reece periods 13-14).The reverse appears to show a standing figure with right arm extended. Some characters of the legend are visible but very worn. Potentially the legend includes the letter I at ten o'clock and the letter O at one o'clock. The mint is unknown. The coin is an irregular shape with roughly a quarter of the original flan missing. Looking from the obverse side it appears to have broken, or been broken, along the line of the portrait - everything to the right of the face has been removed. The coin has a mottled patina. Areas of original surface appear dark green/brown. There are also patches of brighter green and light brown where the surface has been removed. This coin is 18.65mm in diameter, 1.35mm thick and weighs 1.26g.
