Lettering: Galen. A most excellent physitian ... and is numbered by Carden, among ye 12 most subtil wits of ye world. He was of a weak and crazy constitution, yet, by temperance preserved his life to great age. He died about the middle of the second century. P.P. Rubens del. Ex marmore antiquo. J.
