The photo is part of the Travel Report no. 1571 with the theme “Study of contemporary folk architecture from Maramures; drawing up the repertoire of contemporary folk craftsmen in the field of wood architecture,” author Doina Filimon. The investigation took place from January 20 to February 2, 1984. Pictured the workshop of carver I. Deac from Bogdan Vodă. The traditional tools used in the workshop when making the doors are: “two-handed excavation” for carving and creating logs, “digging” for carving wood, “wood cracking syrup,” the chisels for ornamentation of wood (removing shapes), “the weaver” for drawing circles, “the thorn” for ornaments in the shape of a nail, “the vinclul” or the echer, the gift of holes for ornaments.
