A Medieval mount, rectangular in shape and slightly distorted. The front surface is engraved with a depiction of the Holy Trinity, showing the seated figure of God the Father, holding aloft the Crucified Christ. The engraving was originally enamelled, and significant traces of black enamel remain in the recesses of the design. The mount is likely to have decorated a reliquary or a book cover.The mount is gold and dates from the late fifteenth or early sixteenth century.
