Four medieval copper alloy buckles with oval frames and integral plates with pin holes, 13th - 14th century:- gilt, pin and most of frame missing, the adjacent part of the plate trapezoidal with two rivet holes and expanding towards the second part which is a D-sectioned bar with a transverse rib, a square boss, two opposed cusps and a terminal lobe. Length more than 67mm. Width of plate 14 - 7mm. The bar is similar to many harness mounts for the suspension of pendants (e.g. Griffiths, N. in Clark 1995, fig. 52 no. 73). Probably for use with a harness.- strip pin, slight lateral lobe flanking pin hole, plate with truncated triangular cross-section, two rivets, and a traingular moulding next to the waisted terminal notch. Length 48.5mm. Width of frame 14mm. Width of plate 7 - 6mm. For use with a spur.- gilt, pin missing, plate with two areas of rocker-arm engraving and two rivets, tapering to a square boss next to the hooked or scrolled terminal. Length 49mm. Width of frame 13mm. Width of plate 9 - 7mm. For use with a spur.- gilt, D-sectioned pin, most of the plate missing. Frame width 12.5mm. For use with a spur.
