Terminal fragment of post-medieval copper alloy monumental brass inscription with palimpsest. The original text consists of a black-letter upper case O followed by a break and with a fixing hole in the centre. The style of the lettering is of East Anglian Series N.3d, being very close to an O from North Burlingham, dated 1507 (Greenwood and Norris 1976, 27). On the reverse an O in Roman lettering is preceded and comes before another letter of which a narrow part of an upright is present. The engraving of the latter has broken through the metal at one point. Height 38mm. Length 36.5mm. Thickness 3mm.
