Part of a pair of Post Medieval scissors: fragment of finger-loop offset from arm which ends in a broken angled hinge. The arm is highly decorated, with square-section bosses and engraved probably foliar ornament on two faces. The engraving continues onto the sides of the hinge. The inside of the latter is iron-stained and contains a slot for the blade. A transverse hole at the break would have held the spindle. Length >38mm.
