Incomplete, distorted and worn front part of gilt sheet Medieval buckle plate decorated with an engraved wyvern (the engraving surviving as upstanding lines of gilding). Two rivet holes through lobes on either side of a pointed attachment edge, convex sides and a small projection on either side of the pin slot. c.22 x 20mm. 13th century.
