The Portable Antiquities Scheme

Medieval incomplete composite tongue-shaped strap-end with forked spacer, attachment edge missing, more of one sheet plate surviving than of the other. Acorn knop with cross-hatched engraving. On one plate three compass-drawn circles enclosing five dots (cf. Dress Accessories no. 551), on the other one. Surviving tine of the fork very short, 8mm out of total length of spacer (and of surviving object) 33mm. Maximum width 7mm. 14th century.
