Medieval copper alloy composite tongue-shaped strap end with forked spacer, two rivets (at both ends of the outer sheet plates) and a triple-collared circular knopped terminal. On the front plate next to the attachment edge there are two lines of finely executed interrupted rocker-arm engraving giving the appearance of tiny addorsed triangles. One line is straight and the other gently arched. A rivet head is included within the line of the latter. 46 x 10.5mm. 14th - early 15th century.Several strap-ends with very similar terminals have been recorded in Norfolk: a complete example from Postwick (HER 30475, NMS-CF5436) ,and fragments from Ashill (HER 31587, NMS-A332E7), Beeston with Bittering (HER 4084, NMS-0FC856), and Billingford (HER 17229, NMS-CEC688).
