Incomplete medieval sheet copper alloy mount, probably rectangular, distorted, one edge missing. There is a rivet hole near both of the extant corners. Decoration consists of lines of finely executed interrupted rocker-arm engraving giving the appearance of tiny addorsed triangles. These lines follow the sides, link the two rivet holes and run obliquely across the centre. It is uncertain to what this object would have been attached. It may even be part of a buckle plate. 23.5 x >16mm. Thickness 0.5 - 0.7mm. 13th - 14th century.
