Medieval, elongated, rectangular gilt copper alloy mount, with a rivet hole near both ends. Transversely distorted. Gilding is present only on the front face, which is decorated with engraving in an apparently non-representational arrangement: a frame around the sides is filled with longitudinal and oblique lines. It is uncertain to what this object would have been attached. 56 x 9mm. Thickness 1.1mm. 13th - 14th century
