Gilded copper-alloy suspension mount for a horse-harness pendant. 19 mm square, it has a broad flute down either side and a zone of criss-cross engraving down the centre. From the middle of the lower edge project two hinge loops which would originally have held a hinge bar. On the ungilded reverse is a large integral rivet with burred-over end. This was found together with sf5980 and, although one is gilded and the other silvered, they do fit together well and could have formed part of the same set.
