Outer edge from a crudely made Limoges-style buckle frame, with the narrowed bar missing. The frame appears to have been made from sheet copper-alloy which has then been shaped slightly by hammering. The lobes at either end of the bar are flat, and a little gilding survives here. The expanded outer edge is convex and angled, although now a little crumpled. It is decorated with engraving which may once have held enamel. There are transverse grooves at the pin rest, and triangular grooves filling in the space to either side; the details are unclear. Probably 13th century.
