Corroded strap-end made from two pieces of copper alloy. The attachment end is broken and the two sheets have sprung apart and bent; the surviving length is c. 37 mm. A wavy line of rocker-arm engraving can just be made out running the length of one sheet. The long edges are cut into a gently wavy outline towards the closed end, and the end itself is pointed. Here the two sheets are joined, perhaps by solder; although it is not possible to see any rivets, perhaps this is merely due to corrosion. Probably 13th or 14th century.
