A Medieval lozenge-shaped mount bent in the centre to accommodate a facet or corner of the object that it originally decorated. One half of the lozenge is engraved with fleurs de lys and the other with the radiating spokes of an elaborate wheel (?). The engraving may have heraldic significance. The background is tooled, probably to take enamel. The mount is silver-gilt and dates from the fourteenth century.
