Umbrella with wooden handle, with ivory curved handle, ending in a dog head and carved rope with tassels. The cover is of black silk, with woven border of black flowers and leaves. No lining. The handle runs through the deck, ending in an ivory tip, and wooden ring holding the frame in place. Spokes of baleen and ending in ivory buttons. At the bottom of the deck a brass hook, through which a cord has to be passed to close the umbrella, part of the cord is missing.
