Lettering: The death of Earl Siward. A Saxon Earl who, feeling the approach of death desired to be clothed in his armour and set upon his feet that he might not die "crouching like a cow"-A.D. 1055. Studies from a sketch book No. 9. Designed & etched on steel by Jas. Smetham.
