Engraving showing Samuel More (d. 1799), Secretary of the Society instituted at London for the encouragement of arts, manufactures and commerce. More stands next to the presidential chair of the Society, holding in one hand a list of premiums (prizes) offered by the Society in 1796. In the other hand he holds one of the Society's medals. A medal awarded to More himself is worn in his lapel.
