Ink drawing by Ernst Welker. Portrait Johanna Friederike Pauline Pleissner or Emilie von Gerschau, married by Binzer (1801-1891). Design sketch for one of the 47 colored drawings. Pauline Pleissner or Emilie von Gerschau/Binzer is depicted as a lantern with portrait head. Next to the picture is a handwritten version. The motif of the lantern later appears in one of the drawings and depicts Pauline Pleissner. For Emilie von Gerschau/Binzer the motif of a asparagus was chosen by the artist in the final version. On the back is another untitled pencil sketch, which seems to have been discarded.
