Shield of wood, round and slightly conical. The edge of the shield is surrounded by a wooden ring attached by a wooden nail through the shield. The outer and inner sides of the shield are covered with knitwear. The interior lacquer is ornamented with an engraving. The handle is attached to two from the outgoing wooden pieces of the shield and consists of two crossbars, one of pipes, the other of a profiled piece of wood, attached with nails. A rough string is attached to the handle. The Shield is taken into battle by French militia soldiers (Garde indigène). (According to the catalogue).
