Nayden Gerov (1823-1900). Bulgarian teacher, educator, poet, writer, literary critic, folklorist, Russian vise consul in Plovdiv, defender of the Bulgarian. During the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878) he worked in the office of Prince Cherkasky, for a short time he was governor of Svishtov, the first liberated Bulgarian city.
