Engraving on paper of Ecce Homo, engraved and published by Jan Sadeler (1550-1600/1601) after a design Maarten de Vos (1532-1603) probably in Antwerp in 1582. Latin text below from John 19. Jesus is presented before an assembled crowd wearing the scarlet robe and crown of thorns. According to the text, Pilate says 'behold the man’ (Ecce Homo). In response the officials in the crowd chant, ‘Crucify him! Crucify him!’
