The garden of Hotel Tihany with a sculpture by Imre Varga. The modern six-storey Tihany Hotel with 270 beds was built according to the plans of Attila Kun, using the plans of the Balaton Hotel established in Siófok in 1961-1962. One of the new solutions in the improved plan was to change the reinforced concrete structure on the ground floor of the building, so that the space under the hotel could be exploited. In 1971, the “Mopresso” open-air cinema was opened in a covered area bordered by columns. The Tihany Hotel had 138 double rooms with hot and cold water bathrooms, service rooms on each floor, and a glass-walled sun terrace on each floor on the southern side of the building. Csöpi (István Bujtor) lived in the hotel in the film Pogány Madonna.
