Statue of Meleager depicted as a victorious huntsman with his hunting dog sits on his right, and on his left the head of the Calydonian boar which he has just killed. He has a cloak wrapped around his arm.The finding spot is uncertain, between Porta Portese and the Gianicolo or, according to another news, at Vigna Pighini all'Esquilino. A document by Clement XIV (1769-1774) indicates the passage of the work from the Monastery of San Cosimato to the Museums in 1770.
