Black and white photography, interior photograph, studio, Model Wandelgang Schillertheater, 1950/51 View into the corner of the studio of sculptor Bernhard Heiliger. In the foreground there is a solid wooden table on the left to the right, on its left half, the tabletop with white color traces, there is a model of the artist. It shows the design for the transformation of the Schiller Theater. At the front longitudinal side there are 6 high black pillars at an even distance, in between a wide free space (passage). Opposite and on the top of the forehead, there are white, raised plates that represent walls, which are covered with large surface relief work. The reliefs show abstract compositions of figures and free forms, they easily emerge from the white wall. There is a single figure between the two front pillars and at the lower end of the aisle, making the size ratios clear. In reality, the long wall in the course of the theater measures 28 meters in width and 3 meters in height. The model is open to the top. To the right behind the table is increased the middle part of a sculpture can be seen from a smooth dark material behind it, to the left on the wall is a narrow wall border, on which a small woman’s head stands individually and in the middle. On the left, the lower part of an upper studio window can be seen, through which daylight comes in. Below the window on the left is a lamellar radiator, on which lies a dark abstract female sculpture. Ch. K.
