Landscape: County of Bohus. Marstrand’s Church with the Altar. Before the repair in 1912. In the middle of the settlement on the island of Marstrand, the ancient walls of Marstrand’s church rise from gray-limed natural stone. The oldest parts of the church date from the 17th century. From the outset, the sanctuary was a parish church, but then became a monastery church for a few centuries. When the monastery was destroyed, the church (called Mariakyrkan) again became the sanctuary of the parish. See little: Our Churches. P. 496. ISBN 91-971561-08.
