Case constructed and decorated to look like a book. Gilding and embossing of patterns containing flowers and leaves. The word "BIJOU" is gilded on the spine. Double sided case intended for two plates.

View of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in portrait orientation. Taken from West of the Tower. The seven storeys of Romanesque arcading are surmounted by a smaller circular storey withe larger arched windows. A thin railing edges the top two levels. Part of the end of the cathedral (the roof surmounted by a cross) is seen on the left of the image, a domestic house with window and roof to the right, hills beyond.
