Very early portrait from the earliest Richard Beard studio. This was taken in the month following the opening of the studio. Taken with Wolcott's reflecting camera (this used a curved mirror to focus the image rather than a lens). The mounting and frame are very much more elaborate than later photographs from Beard's studio. See also PBM.F.00030
