Landscape: County of Bohus. The oldest parts of Landvetter’s Church are considered to be of medieval origin. The tower and the choir, on the other hand, date from the 1800s. The baptismal find, carved in grey limestone, is the only church from the Middle Ages preserved inventory. It has been manufactured in the later half of the 1200s. The altar essay dates from 1680. It has paintings executed by Johan Ross, Gothenburg. In 1986 a new organ was acquired, built by Nils Hammarberg. It has 17 moods. The vaulted roof dates from 1787. It has been painted by Johan Liljedahl. The paintings portray the sky floor with gray cloud formations. Above the chancel is the “Trinity,” a triangle with the name of God (Hebrew letters), surrounded by meadow heads. Of the two church bells in the tower, it is smaller from 1610 (but re-cast in 1733), while the larger one was cast in 1704. Source “Our Churches p. 492.” ISBN 91-971561-08
