Landscape. County of Bohus. Marstrand’s Church behind leafy greenery. In the middle of the settlement on the island of Marstrand, the ancient walls of Marstrand’s church rise from gray-limed natural stone. The oldest parts of the church date from the 17th century. From the outset, the sanctuary was a parish church, but then became a monastery church for a few centuries. When the monastery was destroyed, the church (called Mariakyrkan) again became the sanctuary of the parish. See little: Our Churches. P. 496. ISBN 91-971561-08.
