fyysinen kuvaus: Pääluettelo: Puuvakka, pitkänsoikea, kansi ja pohja hieman kuperat. Vakan kylki painettu yhdestä puusta ja ommeltu kiinni, pohja kiinnitetty siihen puunauloin sekä muutamista kohdista ompelemalla. Kansi koverrettu yhdestä puusta, haljennut ja ompelemalla korjattu, keskellä nahkarihmainen kannike sekä koristeena isohko sininen kivi tai lasihelmi. Mitat n. 49 x 18.4 x 15.2 sm. Peabody Mus. n:o 51955. Laatikko. Kannellinen työkalulaatikko on soikea ja pitkänomainen. Sekä kansi että pohja ovat kuperia. Laatikko on valmistettu vakkatekniikalla taivutetusta puusta. Laatikon sivun muodostaa kaksi puulevyä, jotka on taivutettu muotoon ja kiinnitetty tikkauksin. Pohja on kiinnitetty sivukappaleeseen puutapeilla sekä tikkauksin. Kansi on tehty yhdestä puusta kovertamalla; se on haljennut ja korjattu tikkauksin. Kannessa on päällä keskellä nahkanauhasta tehty kannike ja koristeena iso sininen lasihelmi. A box. The tool box is oval and long in shape. Both its lid and bottom are convex. The box is made of steamed and bent wood. The sides are made of two pieces of wood bent to shape and attached with stitches. The bottom is attached to it with wooden pegs and some stitching. The lid is made of one piece of wood hollowed out – there’s a crack that has been mended with stiches. In the center on top of the lid there’s a skin thong grip and a large blue glass bead. Originally in the collections of the Peabody Museum, at Harvard University, in the United States. Donated to Peabody Museum by Capt. Miner Bruce in 1898. Collected most likely by Capt. Bruce himself when he was Superintendent for the reindeer herding project in Port Clarence 1892 - 1893 or in the next years, until 1897, when he was collecting artifacts for several important US museums (VanStone, 1986).
