The citizens of Tienen collect butter pots on the Grote Markt in front of the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-ter Poelkerk to use them as cannonballs on their defensive walls, 1830. Tienen. Belgian independence. Inscriptions and textual elements: LES CANONS DE TIRLEMONT. Les habitans rassemblèrent une grande quantité de pots à beure qu'ils braquèrent sur leurs remparts, ce qui effaya considérablement les hollandais qui n'osèrent pas tenter le siège.
