The woodcut shows death as a skeleton enforced by spice. He has just mowed down three people. He looks at a nobleman who uses elegant clothing to support a stick that observes events from a safe distance. A hawk sits on his shoulder, a pooch behind him. Leitschuh mentions the woodcut in his guide through the library as an early specimen in which the name of the artist is integrated (cf. Leitschuh 1889, p. 155). Already Heller commissioned the form cutter Johann Conrad Zeune (1764-1823) to make a wooden stick after Glockendon’s name procession (cf. Holzstock 13 of the State Library Bamberg). With this he illustrated his work on wood cutting art (cf. Heller Holzschneidekunst 1823.70).
