The Rococo pulpit in the Cathedral Basilica in Oliwa comes from the second half of the 18th century. During the rule of Abbot Jacek Rybiński, it was made of linden wood by the Cistercian brother Alamus and Józef Gross. The pulpit is 9.75 meters high and stands at the northern pillar at the entrance to the presbytery. Rocaille cartouches and sculptures covered with gold contrast with the blackness of the pulpit. Its splendor is a beautiful and the only such strong accent of the northern transept. The content of the sculptures is closely related to the life and activity of St. Bernard of Clairvaux. The Latin inscription on the pulpit in translation reads: "Like honeycombs are the words of a good sermon."
