Portrait of a mature couple. / Inscribed "J O Tubbs & Heph. Tubbs Manchester Septr. 1853" and in another hand, "for Lilian Hephzibah Tubbs with Aunt Emily's love." A later label repeats the same and adds, "Grandparents of Eva B. Wills into possession of Eric F. Wills 1954 remounted H.I.W. 1955" Swept frame made from wood with a gesso covering. The style is rococo. Backing in fragmentary condition due to poor quality work in 1955.
