Parchment folio from a Gospel book written and illuminated c. 1536 in the Suynik' province of Armenia for Esayi the 'great vardapet' (abbot). John the Evangelist stands dictating his gospel to the deacon Prochoros his scribe. The hand of God appears in the upper left corner. The Gospel of Mark concludes on the recto.
