Article in Upsala New Newspaper April 17, 1953: “The country’s midwives congress in Upsala.” Improved aftercare for new-born mothers is mainly on the Swedish Midwives Association’s wish list, when it is now convened for the Ombudsperson meeting in Upsala, the Swedish organization and the Nordic Earth Men’s Association is talking to UNT. Miss Ellen Erup, Stockholm. For their own part, after investigation, proposals have been made to limit the working hours to a maximum of 192 hours pr four weeks for the midwives who are active in our country’s approximately 150 smaller places of birth and have so far had an excessive working day. The proposal is now to be investigated by the county council.
