100,000 visitors were estimated to have come to Jerusalem to celebrate Jerusalem Day today. On Mount Herzl, the names of the 380 soldiers, who are buried on the Mount after falling in the Six Day war 23 years ago, were read out. The day passed almost without any incident. A small group of Arab stone throwers were dispersed by the police with tear gas near the Lion's Gate, but apart from this the cultural and commemorative events of the day went off without any problem. A traditional outing in Jerusalem is to walk round the Old City via the Old City walls. It is possible to completely circumnavigate the Old City from the top of the wall. There are magnificent views to be had from all sides, looking out from the city as well as looking in on the various quarters.; Photo shows: visitors walking around the Jerusalem Old City wall on Jerusalem Day. on the horizon can be seen Mount Scopus.
