Theodorus Galle sculpsit. Phls. Galle excudit. Ad exemplar quod pinxit Florentiae in palatio S.R.E. cardinalis ac archiepiscopi eiusdem urbis Ioann. Stradanus flander brugensis. The "cardinal and archbishop" whose palace in Florence housed the painting of this subject by Stradanus was presumably Alessando Ottaviano de'Medici (1535-1605), subsequently and briefly (1-27 April 1605) Pope Leo XI.
